First day of tennis league: 5-3 victory!

foto ilya tijdens tennistoernooi This year I'm playing in a 3rd class mixed team in the national league on Sundays. As in previous years, I'm playing for my club TEAN in Alphen aan den Rijn. The three men in 'TEAN 2' are the same as in last year's champions' team. Our team has been strengthened by the addition of two new ladies, alongside team captain Lisanne. After a long, cold first day, we made our way home with a 5-3 win. read more...

Tournament wins put me into the national top-200 (seniors)

foto ilya tijdens tennistoernooi The (bad?) luck of the draw. In eight consecutive matches in three national ranking tournaments I met the same three opponents twice. Tennis League: Champions with TEAN's 3rd mixed team

foto ilya tijdens tennistoernooi This was the first year I played in a mixed selection team in the Dutch tennis league – for my tennis club TEAN. We wanted to compete in the national 3rd division, but because both of TEAN's mixed teams had been relegated to a lower level last year, we had to play in the 4th division. Our goal was clear: to become champions and be promoted to the 3rd division. And that's exactly what we did. read more...
